Subscription Update Obituary

     Burton Jacobson, 91, died peacefully Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester surrounded by his loving family.

Burton was born in Worcester, son of Henry and Alfreda Jacobson. He enlisted in the Navy at 16 years of age where he served in the Pacific Fleet piloting landing crafts to the shore during amphibious assaults. At the conclusion of World War II, he graduated from Worcester Boys Trade school and then received his degree from Wentworth College. Mr. Jacobson was a gifted builder and tradesman. In 1962, he founded Photopanels of New England, Inc. In 1977 he expanded his business with the purchase of the former Auto Museum in Princeton and moved the company to Princeton where it remained until 2014. He was a long time member of Salem Covenant Church, Worcester.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Marilyn Jacobson. His beloved first wife of 43 years, Sonja, died in 1993. Burton is survived by three children, two step children and his sister. He also leaves four grandchildren, three step grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

There are no calling hours. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday June 26th at noon at Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain Street, Worcester. Reception to follow in the function hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Princeton Firefighters and EMTs Association, PO Box 37, Princeton MA 01541.
