Subscription Update Obituary

Bruce H. Naas, 71, of 50 Causeway Street in the Jefferson section of Holden, died peacefully at home after a long illness on Thursday, November 2, 2006.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Nancy C. (Ropiak) Naas; his son, Michael B. Naas and his wife Pascale-Anne Brault of Chicago; two daughters, Linda N. McKenna and her husband William J. of Rutland and Gayle N. Murphy and her husband Brian T. of Sherborn; a brother, Charles W. Naas and his wife Jean of Silver Spring, MD; 7 grandsons, Christopher, Scott and Douglas McKenna, Eamon, Nolan and Clarke Murphy and Jean-Stephane Naas; 5 nephews and 6 nieces.  He was born in Worcester, son of Willis H. and Marion A. (Anderson) Naas, and has lived in Jefferson for 42 years. He was a 1952 graduate of South High School and was a graduate of the New England School of Accounting, both in Worcester.

Mr. Naas was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War and served in the Coast Guard Reserves during the Vietnam War.  He began his career as a Stockbroker at Paine Webber and worked for over 20 years for Morgan Stanley, retiring as Vice President of Investments in 2002.  He was a long time member of the Worcester Lions Club.  He loved baseball and spent many years in the Holden recreational baseball program.  He was an avid golfer and member of the Sterling Country Club.  The highlight of his retirement was spending time with his seven grandsons.

The funeral for Mr. Naas will be held on Monday, November 6, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton.  Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UMass Memorial Foundation, Peter Levine Cancer Center, P.O.
