Beverley Jane (Logan) Pope, 95, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, formerly of Holden, Massachusetts, passed away at home with her daughter, Nancy and grandchildren, Rachel and Jon by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Herbert W. Pope, who passed away in November of 2019. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude (Sanders) Logan.

She was one of ten children and graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Upon graduation Beverley worked for Paul Revere Life Insurance Company in Worcester. In 1952 Beverley and Herbert were married in Park Congregational Church, Worcester. The couple settled in Holden where they lived for 50 years. Beverley was a school bus driver for E.G. Migdelany for many years. Beverley and Herbert owned and operated Holden Sanitation Company for over 30 years until their retirement.

Beverley is survived by her daughters Nancy Pope of Hyde Park, Vermont and Cindy Koenig and her husband, Walter of Auburn. Beloved grandchildren, Rachel Grogan-Cook and her husband, Cameron of Stowe, VT; Jonathan Grogan and his wife, Kristin of Hyde Park, VT; Amy Koenig of Edgartown and Emily Koenig of Auburn. Her cherished great grandchildren, Ava Cook; Emma and Luke Grogan; Anabel and Una Da Silva; Olivia Maynard and Ella Koenig; as well as several nieces and nephews. Her Social Day community at the Fairhaven Council on Aging and her dear friend Rita Pare.

Beverley was predeceased by her siblings Robert Logan; Arthur Logan; Russel Logan; Jack Logan; Floyd Logan; Lilla (Logan) Chaot; Shirley (Logan) Landry; Muriel (Logan) Fleming and Doris (Logan) Leard; her lifelong cherished friend, Eileen Robichaud.

Beverley was an avid softball player in her youth. She spent many summers camping with family and friends at Bourne Scenic Park. There were many memorable adventures with her siblings. Family and friends were most important to her. Numerous “escapades” with her dear friend, Terry Pereira on West Island. Together they were the “Lucy and Ethel” of the Island. She loved watching the wild birds at her feeders, especially the cardinals. She enjoyed kayaking and riding her bike around the Island.

We are eternally grateful to the staff at Alden Court, St. Luke’s Hospital, Charlton Memorial, Alden Court, South Coast VNA and Hospice, Dr. Gregory Russell and Vickie Saint-Paine NP for their many hours of dedication, compassion and friendship.

A heartfelt thank you to the “Ladies of West Island” (Linda, Diane, Nancy, Dee, Cathy, Cindy, and Leslie) and Scott and Jeff, whose compassion and care helped Beverley to remain at home in her cottage on West Island.

Beverley, also known as “Great G” will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11:00 am on Friday, June 14th at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton, Ma.

A celebration of Beverley’s life will be held at a later date on West Island.
