Betty J. Moore Carrelli, 86 of Paxton, loving mother & grandmother passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, reuniting in heaven with her husband Robert E. Carrelli.
She leaves behind three daughters, Jody C. Meredith and her husband Thomas J. of Boca Raton, FL, Rosalyn C. Anctil and her husband Robert B. of Berlin, MA, and Jacqueline J. Vyskocil and her husband Robert J. of Grafton, MA. Betty also had four grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Ashlie, Chandler, Cole, and Sydney. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by two siblings, Franklin Moore, and Shirley (Joyce) Scarborough
Betty was born in Martin County, North Carolina to Samuel and Susie (Wynne) Moore. Betty moved from her southern roots at age 18 to marry Robert. They began their lives together in Worcester on Dewy Street. Once they had their children, they built their first home on Briarcliff Lane where they raised their girls. Betty so loved Paxton that she spent her remaining years there.
Her early working career began at R.H. Whites and then Wyman Gordon Co. In her lifetime Betty successfully co-owned and operated two businesses with her husband Bob: Carelli’s Bakery in Worcester, MA. and Oxford Package Store in Oxford, MA.
Betty was a member of Saint Columba Parish in Paxton. She had a strong faith and was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed flowers, reading, and spending time with her family.
Calling Hours will be on Thursday, January 12, from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Mass will be on Friday, January 13, at 10 a.m. in Saint Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave, Paxton. (Please go directly to the church). Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
