Barbara Ann (Harris) Gingras, 81, of Worcester, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at the Knollwood Nursing Center.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Robert K. Gingras; four daughters, Rosemarie Martel of Worcester, Michelle Karpowicz and her husband Kevin of Worcester, Tina Fullen and her husband Mark of Holden, and Barbara Karpowicz and her husband Brian of Worcester; her mother, Florence B. (Lauzier) Harris Wilson of Southbridge; two brothers, Ralph Harris and his wife Shirley of Charlton, and Roger Harris of Oxford; a sister, Jean Harris and her husband Stephen of Charlton; a sister-in-law Blanche M. Harris of Worcester; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Her brother, Robert F. Harris, died in 2005.
Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank I. Harris. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Frank Wilson.
Barbara attended St. Paul’s and Blessed Sacrament schools, and Girls Trade School, all in Worcester.
Barbara was a sales clerk for ten years at the former Eddy’s clothing store on Park Ave.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed doing crafts with friends at the Colony apartments where she lived.
Barbara’s family wishes to thank the staff at Knollwood for their skilled and compassionate care.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 26, from the funeral home with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
