Barbara M. (Langille) Pierce, 88, longtime resident of both Auburn and Paxton, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Parsons Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank E. and Bessie M. (Taylor) Langille. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School. Barbara worked for Norton Company in Worcester until she married, then became a homemaker. She enjoyed making curtains, sewing, and knitting. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She loved to travel to Maine, Hawaii, and California. Barbara was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn.

Barbara leaves her loving husband of 67 years, Waldo N. Pierce, Jr.; two daughters, Joann L. Monks and her husband, Darren Monks of Auburn, and Donna M. Godfrey of Lunenburg; two granddaughters, Heather L. and Jessica L. Monks both of Auburn; a great grandson, Hayden J. Monks of Auburn; and is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank, Jr. and Donald Langille.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 10:00-11:00am in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn with a service to begin at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave, Auburn, MA 01501.
