Subscription Update Obituary

Barbara C. (McNutt) Raymond, 88, of East County Road, died peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus, Worcester. Born in Worcester, Barbara was raised in Shrewsbury the daughter of Gervace A. and Catherine (Haggerty) McNutt, and lived in Holden before moving to Rutland in 1973. She graduated in 1941 from Shrewsbury High School and worked over 10 years at the former Holden District Hospital. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband in their winter residence in Lutz, Florida, where she was a member of a local choral group.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 69 years, Paul H. Raymond, Sr.; three sons, Paul H. Raymond, Jr. and his wife Linda of Worcester, James D. Raymond and his wife Rebecca of Wells, Vermont and J. Scott Raymond of Nashua, NH; a daughter, Sandra J. Koons and her husband Ronald of Evergreen, CO; a sister, Dorothy Perks of Millbury; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Arthur and Robert McNutt, predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service celebrating Barbara’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, in the funeral home with interment following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to UMass Memorial Medicine, Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Dev. Office, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
