Bernadette Jeanne (DeFosse) Marin, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Sterling Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sterling. Born in Worcester, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ernest C. and Bernadette M. (Phenix) DeFosse.
Jeanne was a proud graduate of the former St. Anne’s Academy in Marlborough and the St. Vincent School for X-Ray Technology. She married her beloved husband, the late Arthur V. Marin, and together they built a loving home in Holden in 1956. Jeanne dedicated her career to caring for others, working as an X-Ray technician at St. Vincent Hospital and Fallon Clinic before transitioning to a role as a secretary at Memorial Hospital, where she served until her retirement in 1993.
A devout member of St. George Parish, Jeanne’s faith was central to her life. She was deeply involved in the St. George Church Eucharistic Chapel and served as past president of the Women’s Guild. Jeanne’s greatest joy, however, came from the time she spent with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took immense pride in her loved ones.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Arthur V. Marin, in 2000, and her brother, Donald DeFosse. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children: Arthur N. Marin of Holden, Richard D. Marin and his wife Cheryl of Holden, Michele M. Marin of Jefferson, and Denise E. Donohoe and her husband Barry of Paxton. Jeanne will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Danielle McAuliffe, Ryan Donohoe, Richard Marin, Michael Marin, Andrew Marin, and Brianna Marin, as well as her eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are private and entrusted to Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Truro Conservation Trust, P.O. Box 327, North Truro, MA 02652.
