Subscription Update Obituary

CONCORD – Arthur W. Luoma of Monsen Road, formerly of Leicester, died yesterday in Emerson Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife, Charlotte M. (Swenson) Luoma; two sons, William A. Luoma of Lee, N.H., and Navy Lt. Mark E. Luoma of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Edwin R. Luoma of White River Junction, Vt. and Henry J. Luoma of Buckley, Wash.; four sisters, Evelyn M. Parker of Dunnellon, Fla., Sylvia E. Forgit of Beverly Farms, Ruth M. Guilfoyle of Stuart, Fla., and Nancy L. Dorr of Leicester; two half-sisters, Martha S. Hyytiainen of Leicester and Helmi W. Anderson of Oakdale; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Jacob and Lydia M. (Alho) Luoma, and lived 36 years in Leicester before moving here 27 years ago.

Mr. Luoma was a district parts sales manager for International Harvester Co. in New England and New York state for 35 years, retiring in 1982. After that, he worked six years at Taylor & Lloyd Inc. in Bedford.

He was a past president and honorary lifetime member of Leicester Rod & Gun Club.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He was then on active duty with the Air Force Reserve during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave., Auburn. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions may be made to Emerson Hospital Hospice Program, Concord, 01742. Joseph Dee & Son Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., is directing arrangements.
