Anthony DeCiccio, 82, of 16 Brookside Ave., died Friday, August 25, in Autumn Village Nursing Center, 25 Oriol Dr.
He leaves his wife, Irene M. (Sieniawski) DeCiccio; a son, Anthony DeCiccio, Jr., and his wife Gabrielle of Worcester; two daughters, Julianne F. DeCiccio of Boylston and Diane C. DeCiccio of Sterling; four grandchildren, Jason, Alicia, Michael and Ashley; two brothers, Eugene DeCiccio of Narragansett, R.I. and Donald DeCiccio of Boylston; a sister, Bella Ruggieri of Cranston, R.I. and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Angelo, Dante, Josephine Ursillo and Esta DiClemente. He was born and raised in Providence, R.I., a son of Antonio and Antoinetta (DeCiccio) DeCiccio and lived here for many years.
Mr. DeCiccio was a self-employed restauranteur for many years. He ran many restaurants among them were the Cypress Room, Worcester, the Captains Bridge at Lewis Bay Lodge, Hyannis and the Sandwich Board at the Natick Mall. He retired in 1986. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic and Pacific campaign. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the Worcester Lodge of Elks. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, Providence. Mr. and Mrs. DeCiccio were married in 1950.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 29 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, August 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
