Anna D. (Galantino) Baroni, 92 of Worcester, passed away with her loved ones gathered at her bedside, Friday, December 7, 2018.

Anna was born in 1926 and raised in Worcester; she was the daughter of Frank and Grace (Pedone) Galantino. In 1951, Anna married Matteo “Marty” J. Baroni and they began a life together in the Lake View neighborhood of Worcester where they raised their family with faith and love until Marty passed away in 2006 after 55 years of marriage. Anna continued to live a full and active life in her home until recently becoming ill.

Anna is survived by her three children: Francis P. Baroni, Stephen A. Baroni and his wife Deborah, all of Worcester, and Jane Rosendo of San Diego, California; a sister, Dolores Entwhistle of Worcester; five grandchildren she cherished: Stephen Jr., Kristen and her husband Nick, Jessica and her husband A.J., Kimberlee, and Matthew; a great grandson, Ryder; a niece, nephews, extended family, and many friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was pre-deceased by a son-in-law, Dr. Henry Rosendo who passed away in 2007, a brother Anthony “Tony”, and a young sister Anna.

Always interested in beauty and impeccably dressed, Anna was very successful as an Avon sales representative over a span of 50 years and was honored many times for her distinguished service. Anna was a member of St. Anne’s Church and the former St. Margaret Mary Church where she was active in church events, as well as a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Sodality. Along with her husband, her children and grandchildren always came first in her life no matter what. Anna was the “rock” of her family and remained devoted to them her entire life. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed dancing, cooking, playing cards, occasional trips to Foxwoods, and playing bingo. Anna also enjoyed spending time with her family on Cape Cod and in California. Anna was a volunteer coordinator for many years during elections at the Lake View School Precinct.

Anna’s funeral will be held Tuesday, December 11th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a procession to St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury where her Celebration of Christian burial mass will be held at 11:00 am. Burial with her beloved husband Marty will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 8:30 am to 10:30 am prior to departing for mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances can be made in Anna’s name to the St. Anne’s Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury.
