Subscription Update Obituary

Angela (Masiello) Leo, 77, of Worcester, a loving mother and friend passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Kenneth E. Leo, who predeceased her in 2019.

Angela is survived by two daughters, Wendy Leo Johnson and her husband Charles of Holden and Michelle Leo deVerbigier and her husband Arnaud of Wilmington; a sister, Phyllis T. Breitenfeld of Sturbridge; three grandchildren, Kevin Sweeney and his wife Emily, Gabrielle deVerbigier and Sebastien deVerbigier; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Masiello in 2018. Angela was born in Worcester to the late Angelo A. and Teresa P. (Guisto) Masiello. She lived most of her life in Worcester, before moving to Florida later returning here in 2019.

Angela graduated from Worcester Commerce High School in 1962, where she was the class testatrix; in 1965 she graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, having also attended Anna Maria College.

Angela was a Registered Nurse for many years at the UMass University Campus, retiring from the surgical center, after a full career. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she enjoyed hiking, golfing, board games, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was her family and the unconditional love she received and bestowed upon her children and grandchildren.

Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday, June 23, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Thursday, June 24 from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:40 a.m. to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
