Subscription Update Obituary


    Alexander B. White was a World War II Marine Corps veteran. Alexander gave his Marine Corps belt to his nephew Happy White who was thrilled to have it.


    Alexander White worked with his father, Bertram, for many years in the construction business. He later owned and operated his own business called Economy Builders for 40 years, retiring in 1977.


    He was a terrific musician – playing the base viola for years in the Worcester City Orchestra and other musical groups. Also base drum, base viola and tuba player.


    He was a member of Citadel Corps, Salvation Army; Aletheia Grotto, and the Royal Arcanum, a life member of Worcester Musicians Association, Local 143, and played many years in various local orchestras. He was also a volunteer in the Senior Companion Program of Worcester.


    Funeral services were at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA with Salvation Army Capt. Leonard P. Boynton officiating. He was buried in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
