Agnes (Gibree) Novia, 96 of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, December 8th, 2018 with the ones she loved gathered by her bedside.

Born and raised in Worcester, Agnes was one of seven children of Robert and Delia (Perry) Gibree.  In 1947 shortly after the end of World War II, she married the “Love of her Life” Rocco “Rocky” Novia.  Together they embarked on a 59-year love affair, raising their family, summering on the Cape in Dennis port, quiet drives on Sunday and attending their grandsons’ sports activities until 2006 when Rocky passed away.  She continued to be part of her families lives until recently.

Agnes is survived by her son and daughter in law, David M. and Kathleen Novia; her two grandsons, Michael D and his wife Jessica, Ryan J. and his wife Kristin; four great grandchildren, Lily, Chloe, Harper & Marley; a sister, Barbara Sestito; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.   Two brothers, Richard and Everett Gibree and three sisters, Rose McKenna, Alice Howard and Violet Davis all pre-deceased her.

Agnes was a long-time member of St Joan of Arc church.  She worked many years as a sales clerk for R.H. White department store in Lincoln Plaza.   Along with her husband, her son, and grandchildren always came first in her life no matter what.  Agnes was the “rock” of her family and remained devoted to them her entire life. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially family.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, December 12th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral will be celebrated Thursday, December 13th from the funeral home with a procession to Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street where her Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
