Frederick F. Niedzialkowski of 88 Lynnwood Lane, Worcester passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 23, 2005, surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born on May 24, 1924 in Worcester, to Konstanty and Helen (Chmielewska) Niedzialkowski. He was in the Unites States Navy during World War II and served as a gunnery mate, escorting convoy supply ships across the Atlantic. After being honorably discharged, Fred graduated from Commerce High and the Worcester Art Museum, specializing in commercial art. He worked for 35 years as a draftsman at Heald Machine Company, retiring in 1987.
Fred was blessed with good health until very recently and spent his days in service to others. He was very active as a foster parent for special needs children for many years and enjoyed gardening, bird watching and woodworking. He was very devoted to his family and was known for friendliness and helpfulness to others. He had a great sense of humor and love of life. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church since the 1940’s. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice V. (Quintin) Niedzialkowski, four children, Diane Niedzialkowski and her husband Dan Farrow of Silver Spring, MD, Jim Niedzialkowski and his wife Karin Niedzialkowski of Oxford, MA, Nancy Isabella and her husband Michael Isabella of Worcester, MA, and Beth Dutton and her husband Mark Dutton of Bradfordwoods, PA, eight grandchildren, his brothers, Ray and Henry Niedzialkowski and sister Natalie Rawding. A sister, Jane Danko predeceased him.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, January 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Caswell King Funeral Home, 474 Grove Street, Worcester. A funeral mass was be celebrated on Thursday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester.
