Subscription Update Obituary

     William V. Obraitis, 98, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family.

     Bill’s wife of 68 years, Aldona M. (Paulauskas) Obraitis died in 2007. He leaves a son, William Obraitis, Jr. of Worcester; two daughters, Janet wife of Robert Locke of Oxford and Christine wife of Charles Rogan of Millbury; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Mayer; three brothers, Charles, Domanic and Joseph Obraitis.

     Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 29th Infantry Division, 116th Stonewall Brigade during World War II. Bill landed and fought on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D Day, June 6, 1944. Bill enjoyed fishing, cowboy movies, Polka music, and Lithuanian food. Most of all Bill loved spending time and visiting with his family.

     Bill’s funeral will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 11 a.m. with a service in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury will be assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
