Philip A. Farmer, 71, of Leicester, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Life Care Center of Auburn.

     He leaves his wife, Carol A. (Fitzsimmons) Farmer; a daughter, Margaret Schwartz and her husband Ron of Cape Coral, FL; two step-sons, Kevin Derosier of Cape Cod, and Mark Derosier and his wife Dorothy of Leicester; his step-father, Leo Gallagher of Philadelphia, PA, a brother, Jon Gallagher of Philadelphia; a sister, Eleanor Deal and her husband Clay of Philadelphia; a grandson, Joshua Schwartz of Florida; and a great-grandson, Anthony Schwartz of Florida; step-grandchildren, Brendan and Abigail; many nieces and nephews. He was born in Philadelphia, son of Philip F. and Eleanor (Esposito) Farmer Gallagher and has lived in Leicester for many years.

     Philip worked as an electronics salesman at O’Coin’s in Worcester. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Tatnuck Post.

     There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester, is in care of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
